The Teppy Mountain Retreat Center’s Great Room will feature an encircling ribbon of dynamically illuminated stained glass. The perspective rendering shown here includes a “place holder” representation of the stained glass now in its preliminary design phase. The 4-5 foot high band of stained glass will not be set in actual windows, but rather will be installed in front of mirror. The silvered side of the mirror will be etched with a design that complements the stained glass design. During the day, still-silvered areas in the mirror will reflect ambient light back out through the stained glass. At night programmable LED panels will project light through the etched areas of the mirror to back-light the stained glass. Completion is planned for early 2028.
