St. Joseph, The Making of the Windows

Stanton, Texas

The stained glass at St. Joseph is finished. However, because of their scale, its windows provide a good overview of the basics of stained glass making. Read Theophilus’ account in “A History of Stained Glass” and you’ll see just how little the technique has changed since the 12th century.

Materials: German and French mouthblown glass, Domestic rolled glass, lead-crystal prisms, lenses, lead and solder.
