An Irish castle in west Texas? Yessir! This off-grid wonder was created by Don McIvor on his family’s historic U-Up U-Down Ranch. And every castle must have a chapel!Glas Abha Caislean (Green River Castle) in Ireland was the inspiration for this residential castle of the same name located on Blue Mountain near Fort Davis, Texas. The design for the chapel’s stained glass window combines hints of a Gothic tracery, a descending dove and imagery from the coincidentally named Green River that runs (when it can) beside the castle.
