There are times when the creative episode is cut short before a design can be transformed into stained glass. These are not happy times. It is usually best to try to let these visions go and move on.
. . . then again, the renderings themselves are valid artistic statements. Due to poor salesmanship, or losing a competition, or simply because of what a committee member had for dinner the night before, these designs, brimming with potential, never happened. They collect in a corner of the studio where I sometimes dust them off for another look. The thoughts and ideas that nurtured their making in the first place flicker back to life like old friends. I wonder at times like these what direction my work might have taken if some of these designs had been realized. . .
